CD Projekt Red has confirmed plans to present The Witcher 4 later this year.
The Witcher 4 was announced several years ago, but it still hasn’t received a full reveal beyond the trailer shown at The Game Awards 2024.
Fans also saw a technical showcase during last year’s State of Unreal event, which was not a complete reveal but instead highlighted the technology that will power the new Witcher title.
During episode 26 of the AnsweRED Podcast, the studio confirmed that The Witcher 4 will appear at Unreal Engine Fest in June this year (via DSO Gaming).
Around the 18-minute mark, animation director Maciej Pietras explained that Unreal Engine Fest allowed the team to demonstrate “many of the technologies” they had developed, and added that the company plans to follow a similar approach this year.
CD Projekt Red Will Be Showing The Witcher 4 At Unreal Engine Fest Later This Year
So far, there is no confirmation on whether the footage will be the same technical demo from last year or something entirely new.
It is also uncertain if the presentation will feature in-engine cinematics or actual gameplay segments.
The podcast also hinted at several gameplay elements that could appear in The Witcher 4, such as a dedicated jump button, underwater exploration, and a wide range of NPC types.

Unless the studio releases another trailer before June, Unreal Engine Fest is expected to be the next opportunity to see fresh in-engine footage from The Witcher 4.
The Witcher 4 is the next main entry in the franchise following 2015’s The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
This installment replaces Geralt as the main playable character with Ciri, his adopted daughter. However, it is widely believed that Geralt will still have a major narrative role, similar to Vesemir in the original trilogy.
There is still no official release date for The Witcher 4. The game is expected to target current-generation platforms and will likely launch before the next PlayStation console arrives.
Some rumors point to a release window near the end of 2027, which seems reasonable given that development reportedly began in 2022.
